Gosh it was just Halloween and now Christmas is 1 week away. I'm not quite sure where the weeks in between went! We had a fun trip back to KS and MO for Thanksgiving and enjoyed seeing almost every relative we know of. Over all we drove 2500 miles - that's enough for one year! Nikolas did pretty good, thank goodness for DVD players. I seriously do not know what our parents did before them. Nikolas' favorite is the Backyardigans, of which I catch myself humming the theme song every now and again. Christmas shopping has been hectic and a little stressful, and now we have almost 5 inches of snow on the ground and it's not gotten higher then 20 degrees in the last two weeks. I guess winter has finally set in here in Chicago. Nikolas is excited about Christmas, I think. He spots Santa pretty easily and usually responds with a "ho ho ho". Although his response to meeting Santa face to face was not as cheery.
It's amazing how much Nikolas has learned in one month. He is saying new words every day and when I ask him where's mama's baby, he lifts up my shirt and points to my tummy. Pretty smart, huh? Along with that has come a few more temper tantrums and stomping of feet. Usually that can be headed off with a toy or food. Overall Nikolas continues to amaze us and we have so much fun together. He really likes to giggle.
