After opening the presents we quickly got our bags packed and flew back to KS to see Papa's and Grandma's, Aunts, Uncles, & cousins. We had a really great time. Nikolas especially loves the farm, waking up every morning to see "papa's moo's". He was really fasinated by the cows and Papa drove him out into the cow pasture every day. He loved it! Luckily it was in the 50's and 60's the entire time so we got to spend a lot of time out doors.

Since Christmas we have been freezing in Chicago, we went for 18 day's where the temp was below 32. The coldest day we had was -17. With the wind it was -45!! Needless to say we've spent a lot of time in-doors. Nikolas' vocabulary has really picked up too. He can repeat almost any word that is said... which leaves us watching what we say a little more closely. The funniest things are what he'll say spontaneously. Like "bless you" when he hear's a sneeze, or "nose" when he needs to blow his nose, and " I go" when he want's to go somewhere with you, "Snow bunny" when we braved the cold one Sat afternoon. He also seems to be in love with trains and busses, as he'll shout out what it is every time we see one. Lately he's been into singing songs and reading books. He can sing along to row, row, row your boat and makes us sing it 15 times, saying "more boat" after each one. He also seems to know Old McDonald, especially liking the "eieio" and the ABC song. With all of this knowledge comes a little more independance and more tantrams when things don't go his way and more energy to burn :)
